Q : They learn Chinese dance in this few year, They have recorded their dance and make a CD, they want to ask :
1. Can their CD apply for Patent?
2. They will also print a pamphlet with the CD to tell user how to learn. Can their CD & pamphlet also register Copyright?

a patent protects new and useful inventions.Invention that can gain Patent must involve technolgy creation -- breakthroughs in technology , but they are also intended for small technological increments. And Inventions also needs to be industrially applicable.

Copyright is the protection of literary and artistic works include writings, music, works of the fine arts, such as paintings and sculptures. According to The Berne Convention, international convention governing copyright, (can simplfy define as) :- Copyright is automatically protected/gained without requirement for registration after the literary or artistic works written down or finished. There is no requirement that the literary and artistic work should be good or have artistic merits. But must not be a copy of another work.
